Workshop description: Self-editing

The digital age has brought more opportunities than ever to publish, but the competition is fierce. A self-edited manuscript will distinguish your work from all the rest in the flurry and ensure any editor that she is dealing with a professional—someone who is learning the craft and is serious about writing as a career.

You will learn skills relevant to both prose and poetry in this workshop, moving from the big picture (content, organization, presentation) right through to the last misplaced comma. It’s really not difficult: you will be surprised by how much easier it is to learn now, as an adult, than it was in high school.
